The Gaza Flotilla and Iran’s Nuclear Program

Re “A Credible Investigation” (editorial, June 4), about the flotilla that tried to run the Gaza blockade:
Your conclusion was troubling. You asserted, “Until this incident is credibly investigated, there is little hope of moving forward with Israeli-Palestinian peace talks or efforts to curb Iran’s nuclear program.”
Democratic Israel has proved its ability to investigate itself. But in any case, why suggest such a linkage?
The “activists” were en route to Gaza in a show of solidarity with Hamas, the Palestinian Authority’s sworn enemy. Has the world forgotten the Hamas-P.A. civil war three years ago, the hundreds of fatalities and the ouster of the Palestinian Authority from Gaza? The Israeli-P.A. peace process should move forward because it is in the interests of both parties. Hamas and its supporters must not be allowed to sabotage it.
